The forested region east of us, towards the Carpathian Mountains, is called Codru. In Romanian, Codru is a romantic name for a deep, dark forest. The wine perfectly reflects this. Deep, dark color, deep, dark fruit, in which one can lose oneself.
The grapes for this wine come from a south-facing vineyard, planted in 2008. The soil consists of clay with a high sand content. It’s a dry place. The grapes are correspondingly small but very concentrated.

Grape treatment: The grapes are destemmed by hand on a perforated wooden board. Fermentation takes place for 21 days on the skins in stainless steel tanks. After pressing, the wine is transferred to a 500 L and a 225 L wooden barrel. Aged on the fine lees for 12 months.
Sulphur added: 20 ppm on the day of bottling
