In 2004, Papa Brutler decided to plant Merlot in two parcels: one on the plateau with heavy clay soil and the other on the lower slope with loam, sand, and gravel. The Cabernet Sauvignon grows on the upper slope with loam, gravel, and clay soil. These three parcels produce a very powerful yet elegant wine – typical of a cool climate. And for anyone who hates Merlot for whatever reason: it’s not the grape variety’s fault if a wine doesn’t taste good.

Alcohol: 14,0 % by vol.
Grape varieties: Merlot 90%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10%
Grape treatment: The grapes are destemmed by hand on a perforated wooden board. Fermentation takes place for 21 days on the skins in stainless steel tanks. After pressing, the wine is transferred to 225 L wooden barrels. Aged on the lees for 18 months.
Sulphur added: 20 ppm on the day of bottling
